A fresh new blog for a fresh new beginning...

Hey hey!!! This is officially the new blog I have created, which is long overdue I must say, if you aren't fully aware I have spent a good 4 months in Thailand from September until January. I went because I won a competition with a TEFL company to train and work as a TEFL teacher in Thailand. Unfortunately, things were not as straight forward as anticipated, the training was the easy part, (even when I was stressing about multiple pieces of coursework), not to mention the terrible internet speed Thailand seems to have on a whole.

At first the problems started because I was one of the last to get placed with a school, (running around like headless chicken to keep me preoccupied was an understatement). I was transferred to another agency who sadly were terrible at looking after their staff. They honestly cared more about their relationship with the school than the people who worked for them. To cut a long story short after the honeymoon period wore off, the head of english soon showed his true colours and it was not long before I was redundant without an explanation. The agency told me to sit tight and sadly after 3 weeks of waiting for them to "get back to me" I used my initiative and found my own agency and own placement. This time my relationship with the new agency seemed to be spectacular but that soon changed due to an admin error somehow I was again left without a job and was told I can "cover". Understandably I had enough of being sent up and down the country on thai transport (which btw is always horrendously late) so I came home as I was almost out of money with no concrete job and my visa was about to expire.

So here I am... back in London where I have been for almost a good 2 months, but I'm not here on holiday and no matter how bad I had it in Thailand, there was a lot of positives and relationships I had developed that kept me strong and happy. The experience had got me more determined to get back to Asia to teach again, as the teaching aspect was never the issue.

As I write this I am planning and sorting out paperwork for S.Korea. The great news is I have had one job offer, from one of the many agency's I have applied for. I'm feeling confident I shall be receiving a few more soon. Either by the end of March or April I will be leaving London hopefully for the last time for a very long time, and will be back over on the other side of the world, where my heart is yearning to be, as of now.

To end on a good note I will always look back on Thailand with great fondness and hope one day I can go back for a holiday and catch up with those people I grew close to during those 4 months.

England sucks, peace out! :P
